Yangon – Bago – Golden Rock – Yangon (2 Days/1Night )

Day 01 : Yangon – Golden Rock

kyaikhtiyoe-06Pick up from Hotel by our guide,  drive  to Bago, an ancient capital of 16th century Mon Kingdom ( 80 KM- 1 ½ hours ). On the way, photo stops at the Shwe nyaung pin Nat shrine to appeal for a safe journey and at the Htauk Kyant war memorial cemetery compound in which 27000 stone graves of common wealth and allied forces fallen soldiers in the Myanmar campaign were honorably kept. Upon arrival Bago, visit  Kyat Kha Wine monastery that has about 700 monks living. Lunch at local restaurant.  After lunch at Bago ,continue to Golden Rock (Kyaikhtiyo), one of the most interesting tourist destinations famous for its mystical pagoda stands on the gold gilded boulder precariously stand on the edge of the cliff which is over 3000 feet above sea level at  Mt.Kyaikhtiyo. Arrive to the base camp of the mountain, change to the open roof truck about 45 drive up the mountain. Overnight at  Hotel .

Day 02  : Golden Rock – Bago – Yangon ( Breakfast )

bago-05After breakfast, descend from Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda. Drive back to Yangon via Bago and sightseeing includes  “Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda” was originally built by the Mon to a height to 23 meters in the 8th century and was rebuilt higher several times until it finally reached its present 114 meter stature in 1954, the highest pagoda in Myanmar. “Kanbawzathardi Palace” the famous palace of King Bayinnaung (1551-1581 A.D.) is being extensively excavated and some buildings are being rebuilt. “Shwethalyaung Pagoda” Built in 994 AD by King Mingadippa, It is 55 meters long and 16 meters high, another biggest reclining Buddha image in Myanmar built during 9th century. “Kyeik Pun Pagoda” It was built by King Dhamma Zedi in 1476 A.D, four gigantic Buddha images all in sitting posture facing the four cardinal points of the compass. Then transfer back to hotel.

Yangon – Pyay – Akauk Hill – Yangon ( 2D1N )

Day 01     : Yangon – Pyay

pyay-05Pick up from you and leave Yangon for Pyay, about 286 km North-West of Yangon on the eastern bank  of Ayeyarwaddy River, about 5 Hours Drive.. Pyay (ex-Prome ) is famous for Sriksetra; Ancient Pyu City from the 1st to 9th Century AD. en route ,visit Shwe-taung; a small town 14 km from Pyay to see Shwe-myet-hman Phaya meaning ‘Buddha Image with the Golden Spectacles’ a reference to a large white face sitting Buddha image inside the main shrine. The Buddha image wears golden rimmed spectacles. Spectacles were added during the Konbaungera (the last Dynasty). Upon arrival to Pyay, check in at the Hotel. After refreshments, drive to Sriksetra, 8 km out of town. Visit Hmawzar archaeological museum to observe Pyu’s urn-burials & artifacts such as , coins, ceramic, metal wares, stone inscriptions and gold leaves in Sanskrit, Pali & Pyu languages, etc. Later on, visit to BawbawGyi, Be beGyi, East & West Zegu pagodas, Leimyaethna Pagoda . Day 02 : Pyay – Akauk Hill – Yangon ( Breakfast  )

pyay-06Morning after breakfast, Drive to the other side of Ayeyarwady River, to Htone Bo; the small town where heavy industries of Government located, from where we will take a boat to see amazing numerous Buddha images of different size and posture carved along the cliffs of the riverbank, approxi: 15 min-sailing down and 45 min-sailing up boat ride. This area is known as AKaukTaung, which means “Customs Hill” After the second Anglo-Burmese war in 1853, AkaukTaung became the border between Upper Burma, which belonged to the Myanmar King, and Lower Burma belonging to the English. Here, the British taxed goods ,travelling by boat on the river and because of long Customs queue, boatmen started to carve Buddha images along the cliffs to wile away their time. Return to Pyay and enjoy lunch at a good local restaurant. After Lunch, visit Shwesandaw Pagoda; which treasured a duplicate of the Buddha’s tooth relic from Kandy, Sri Lanka. Later on, visit to Se-htet-kyi Phaya; an enormous seated Bhudda figure rising up from the tree line. From the Shwesandaw terrace you will look across to the image eye-to-eye. Se-htat-kyi – meaning ‘Big Ten-storey’ for its height. Drive back to Yangon .

Then enjoy horse cart riding for breathtaking sunset from  Shwesandaw Pagoda, a most popular sunset-viewing spot in Bagan. Transfer to restaurant for dinner at local restaurant with puppet show. Day 02 : Bagan – Yangon  ( Breakfast  )

Day 02 : Bagan Sightseeing  – Yangon   ( Breakfast )

Morning after breakfast, visit to Highlight for today :Manuhar pagoda - built by king Manuhar, probably to portray his life as a POW ( Prisoner Of War ) ; Ape Ya Da Na temple - where you can study 11th century mural painting ; unfinished Dhamagyi temple - Bagan’s most massive temple built in 1167 AD ; Gawdaw Palin temple, one of the largest temple about 60 meters high ;  Lawkhananda Pagoda- look over Ayeyarwaddy river from acliff top ; Bu Paya - pagoda with bulbous dome resembling the ‘ Bu’ or gourd ; Nagayon pagoda- a very elegant form with a standing stucco image of Buddha under the hood of a huge naga ( serpent ); Ananda Okkyaung-a brick monastery with 18th century mural paintings; Nathlaung Kyaung – the only remaining Hindu temple in Bagan. Then transfer to airport for Yangon with Evening flight.

Day 02 : Bagan – Popa – Yangon by Evening Flight ( Breakfast )

Morning after breakfast, drive to Mt Popa is 50km away from Bagan and it is popularly recognized as an abode of many "Nats" (spirits of ancient ancestors). In the days of old, it also used to be referred to as the "Mountain of Spirits". The evidence of these beliefs is abundant in the form of "nat shrines", leg- ends, rituals, ceremonial offerings, annual representative festivals, and the never- ending stream of pilgrims and believers in mysticism. Return back to Bagan for late lunch. Free for relaxation. Flying back to Yangon with Evening flight.

Pick up from Hotel by our guide and visit Sagaing Hill where over 600 monasteries for monks and nuns are located for Buddhist studies and meditation. Visit Kaungmudaw Pagoda a huge pagoda in 46 m (151 feet) high and in the shape of a perfect hemisphere, U min Thonze or thirty caves pagoda has many Buddha images in a crescent shaped colonnade, Ywahtaung Village where you can see silver workers producing bowls and other silver items by traditional methods and the most impressive Soon Oo Pon Nya Shin Pagoda nearby. After that take a private boat to Mingun that is famous for its huge and incomplete Pahtodawgyi Pagoda built by King Bodaw Badon in 1791 and Mingun Bell the biggest hanging bell in the world. Then transfer to airport and take a flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, welcome by Yangon car driver and then transfer to hotel.

inle-lake-18Morning after breakfast, boat drive to Shwe Indein Pagoda complex, one of the small villages of Inle Lake located on the western bank of the Lake. It will take a 45 minute boat ride. The pagoda and hundreds of stupas built in the 8th century and rows of shops are famous. After lunch back to hotel on the lake.. enjoy relaxing on the lake. or you can enjoy hiring a small canoe boat go around the nearby villages to see the lifes of the lake peoples. Then transfer to airport for Yangon . Upon arrival, welcome by Yangon car driver and then transfer to hotel.
