Annular Solar Eclipse in Myanmar

Day 01 ( 12 Jan ’10 ) : Arrive in Yangon ( L /
D )
Arrive
in Yangon International airport, meet and welcome by your guide. Your sightseeing begin by visiting Kyaukhtatgyi Buddha, houses the
fourth largest colossal reclining Buddha. After a photo stop at the
heart of Yangon such as City Hall, High Court and many colonial
style buildings, we continue to the Nagar Glass factory where you
can experience old methods of making glass figuring by experienced
workers; Lawka Chanthar world biggest marble Buddha and royal white
elephant. Then, enjoy a quick visit to Saint Mary's cathedral which
is the biggest in Myanmar. After lunch, shopping in the Bogyoke
market formerly "Scott market", where you can get a wide range of
Myanmar handicraft, jewelries, fabrics, lacquer wares and so on. In
the early evening, visit Strand jetty to witness the daily life of
the local people and Yangon's River that offers a remarkable
atmosphere with spectacular colors and photo opportunities Evening
visit to the magnificent Shwedagon pagoda, landmark of Myanmar and
one of the greatest wonders of the world Buffet dinner serve at
Karaweik Hall which is a classy modern restaurant in the form of a
huge Myanmar mythical bird, standing in water.

Day 02 ( 13 Jan ’10 ) : Yangon – Bagan ( B / L /
D)

Morning after breakfast, transfer to airport for Bagan. Located in
the Ayeyarwaddy basin of central Myanmar, Bagan with its 2000
pagodas and temples represent Myanmar cultural heritage of the
11th-13th century AD. Highlights for this morning-the stunning Shwezigone pagoda, a prototype for later Myanmar pagodas; Ananda
temple, the most beautiful of Bagan temples; Kyansittha Umin ,a
small tunnel with 13th century mural painting; Gubyaukgyi temple
built by prince Rajakuma,son of King Kyansittha. During your lunch
break hour at the river view restaurant, you can observe daily life
at Ayryarwaddy river. After lunch, bring you to a lacquer ware
industry and see how to produce a quality lacquer ware . In Myanmar,
the origins of the lacquer seems to come from Bagan about 12th -
13th century. Continue your tour by visiting Bagan’s most massive
shrine, Damayangyi temple extending approximately 255 feet on each
of its four sides and Thatbyinnyut pagoda, the tallest in Bagan at
almost 200ft. You will also have a chance to take a Pony Carts rides
among the ancients pagodas and temples ( optional ). End your tour
at the terrace of the Shwesandaw pagoda, it was a great spot to view
the sunset of Bagan. Special dinner with traditional puppet show at
Nanda restaurant.

Day 03 ( 14 Jan ’10 ) : Bagan – Mandalay-
Amarapura - Monywa ( B / L / D )
Early
morning, transfer to airport for a flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival
,excursion to Amarapura means City of Immortality founded in 1783
AD. Visit Mahaganthayon monastery the largest teaching monastery in
Myanmar. Daily at around 10:30 a.m. about 700 monks queue up for
their last meal on this day. Then enjoy the great serenity of U Bein
wooden Bridge constructed in 1849 is about three quarter of a mile
with 1086 posts and Taung- ta-man lake that will give you an
enchanting experience. After lunch continue to Monywa (http://myanmartravelinformation.com/mti-mandalay/monywa.htm
Upon arrival, location pre-check for solar escape.

Day 04 ( 15 Jan ’10 ) : Monywa solar escape -
Mandalay ( B / L / D)
Morning
after breakfast, free and easy till transfer to enjoy solar escape. ( In the morning , you also have an option to sightseeing around Monywa. Highlights are Thanboddhay Pagoda ,Bodhi Tahtaung and Po
Khaung Taung Aung Sakkya Pagoda Pho Win Cave, Shwe Ba Cave ,Shw Gu
Ni Pagoda etc .. ). After enjoying solar escape, drive back to
Mandalay Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 05 ( 16 Jan ’10 ) : Mandalay sightseeing ( B
/ L / D)
Morning after breakfast, visit Mahar Myat Muni Buddha Image the most ancient
Buddha image castled in bronze in Myanmar and the reconstructed Mya Nan San Kyaw
Palace. This golden palace represents Myanmar Sovereignty and independence and
can arouse national patriotic spirit among Myanmar people. Then head your way to
the handicraft workshops such as bronze sculpture, gold leaf beating and marble
stone carving. Before lunch, go and see Shwenandaw Monastery where you ca study
Myanmar traditional wooden monastic architecture. Afternoon visit will also
include Kuthodaw Pagoda, often called the world’s largest book( a set of 729
huge stone slabs on which the Buddhist scriptures are inscribed ) and Mandalay
Hill, the natural watch-tower for the visitors to watch sunrise or sunset over
the city plains.

Day 06 ( 17 Jan ’10 ) : Mandalay – Heho- Inle Lake
( B / L/ D )
Morning after breakfast, transfer to airport for fly to Heho. Upon arrival ,you
have to take a scenic route to Nyaung Shwe Jetty by traveling the uphill and
winding road over the Shan Plateau. After hotel check in, enjoy a boat ride on Inle Lake for the whole day. Your sightseeing will start with a visit the Phaungdawoo Pagoda, houses five small Buddha images. The temple is also home to
an annual festival, usually held during the month of October is the biggest
occasion held in the Inle Lake. The next must see stop is Nga Phe Chaung
Monastery, an attractive wooden monastery built on stilts over the lake at the
end of the 1850s and where you can see the popular jumping cats leap through the
hoops. You also have an option to see “Padaung” or “Long-neck Karen hill tribe”.
Your tour would be completed with a visit to local silverware workshop, silk
and lotus workshops and traditional iron work. If time allowed, ask your guide
to go and see Shan paper -making industry.

Day 07 ( 18 Jan ’10 ) : Inle Lake – Yangon ( B /
L / D)
We
take boat transfer to jetty and car transfer to Heho airport for
flying back to Yangon. Upon arrival, continue Yangon city tour with
visit to Lawka Chanthar world biggest marble Buddha and royal white
elephant. On the way, stop at the Naga Cave monastic school, where
you can learn the Myanmar monastic education system. You also have
the option to visit Kandawgyi Lake and surrounding area which offer
numerous photo opportunities .After lunch, shopping in the Bogyoke
market formerly "Scott market", where you can get a wide range of
Myanmar handicraft, jewelries, fabrics, lacquer wares and so on and
China town market selling fresh fruits, flowers and local
delicacies. If you stay have time, go to famous MK gems shop where
the qualities of gems are displayed separately in eight different
decorated show rooms. Myanmar is the world number 1 producer of
precious stones. In the late evening visit International Business
Centre (IBC) building site on the bank of the Inya Lake is
remarkable and ideal.

Day 08 ( 19 Jan ’10 ) : Yangon Departure ( B )
Morning after breakfast, transfer to
international airport for departure.
